Elin is passionate about scientific outreach, networking, mentoring, and teaching. She is a co-organizer or manager of the following larger networks that bring together a broad range of microbiome scientists.

Wild Animal Microbiome Evolution

WAME is a newly started special topic network funded by the European Society for Evolutionary Biology (ESEB) offering events, workshops, and resources.

Animal Microbiome Research Group

AMRG is an early career researcher-led group offering free annual virtual meetings and a year-round Slack workspace.

Earth HoloGenome Initiative

The EHI is an enterprise aiming at promoting, facilitating, coordinating, and standardizing hologenomic research on wild organisms worldwide.

• Admin of research-related RSS feeds.

• Volunteer at outreach events, e.g. Conservation Biology Day at SCBI, Front Royal, VA, Culture Night at Lund, Sweden, career-speaker at Bio-dagarna, Uppsala.

• Instructor and TA at various courses, including the 'Workshop on Genomics', a two-week-long intense graduate level workshop in Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic (photo below).
